Privacy Policy

Hauntcam is a horror and prank game. We built it to collect as little as possible. There are no accounts, no sign-up, no ads and no tracking across other apps or websites.
What stays on your device
- Camera. The camera feed is processed on your iPhone only (for example, to find people in the frame and draw boxes). Video frames are never uploaded.
- Microphone and speech. Your spoken question is turned into text on your device by Apple's speech recognition. Audio is never sent to us.
- Recordings. Clips you record stay on your device until you choose to share or save them.
Prank details are not stored
When you set up "Haunt a Friend", the friend's first name and the details you enter (such as a pet's name or favourite food) are sent to our server once to generate the prank script, then discarded. We do not store prank details, we do not write them to logs, and the app deletes them from your device when the prank session ends.
Spirit questions are processed transiently
The text of a question you ask the spirit box is sent to our server and our AI provider to generate a one to three word reply. Questions are processed transiently: they are not stored and not logged.

Analytics and crash reports
We use anonymous product analytics to understand which features are used (for example, that a prank was started), and crash reports to fix bugs. These are not linked to your identity, contain no prank details or questions, and are never used for advertising. We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.

Apple processes payments and App Attest under its own privacy policy.
Children
Hauntcam is rated 12+ and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your choices and rights
You can delete the app at any time to remove everything stored on your device. To delete the device ID and counters we hold, email us with the device ID shown in Settings. Depending on where you live (for example under GDPR, UK GDPR or CCPA) you may have rights to access, correct or delete data; contact us and we will respond within 30 days.
